Eko Hot Blog reports that Kirk was known for his strong alliance with President Donald Trump and his efforts in mobilising support for conservative values among young people.
He was speaking to a large audience when a gunshot was heard, causing chaos and panic at the venue.
Video footage from the scene showed Kirk responding to a question before suddenly collapsing backward in his chair. Attendees could be heard screaming as the crowd scrambled for safety.

President Trump confirmed the death of the Turning Point USA founder via a statement on his social media platform, describing Kirk as a “legendary figure” and expressing deep sorrow over his passing.
“The great Charlie Kirk is gone. Nobody connected with the youth of America the way he did. He was admired by all, especially me. We will miss him dearly,” Trump said.
He added that he and the First Lady, Melania Trump, extend their condolences to Kirk’s wife, Erika, and his family.
Former Congressman Jason Chaffetz, who witnessed the shooting, said the tragedy occurred during a question-and-answer session.
According to him, the second question raised by the audience was about transgender individuals and mass shootings. It was during Kirk’s response that the shot rang out.
“He was talking and suddenly dropped backwards. The hall went into a state of shock. People screamed, ducked, and started running,” Chaffetz said.
An eyewitness, Sophie Anderson, said she was about 30 metres from the stage when she heard what she recognised as a gunshot.
“He was hit in the neck and collapsed immediately. Blood was everywhere,” she recounted.
Charlie Kirk rose to prominence after founding Turning Point USA in 2012. He played a significant role in helping Donald Trump regain youth support during the last presidential election.
