The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for officially recognizing its new leadership, a development that prompted the party to declare itself stable and ready for renewed political engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to Eko Hot Blog, INEC’s updated leadership list, published on its official website, confirmed Senator David Mark as the new National Chairman and former Osun State governor, Rauf Aregbesola, as the National Secretary.

The list also named Dr. Ibrahim Mani as National Treasurer, Akibu Dalhatu as National Financial Secretary, and Prof. Oserheimen Aigberaodion Osunbor as National Legal Adviser. This leadership restructuring followed the voluntary resignation of former Chairman Ralph Nwosu and other officers on July 2, 2025.

Reacting to the development, ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, Bola Abdullahi, praised INEC’s decision, calling it a reaffirmation of democratic values. He told reporters that the delay was largely administrative, not political, and that INEC worked with the party to do the right thing.
Abdullahi noted that the recognition ended the uncertainty that had slowed the party’s activities nationwide. He added that the party will now resume full political operations, including membership registration and the issuance of membership cards.
