- 17 schools to receive ₦50,000 monthly operational allowance
- First tranche disbursed ahead of resumption
- Stakeholders hail Anomo’s vision for grassroots education
Public primary schools in Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA have received a major lift as the Executive Chairman, Otunba-Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, introduced a ₦50,000 monthly Primary School Support Allowance for all 17 public primary schools in the council.
Eko Hot Blog reports that announcing the initiative during a courtesy visit by the Education Secretary, Epe LGEA, Otunba Shittu Aliu Idowu, and the leadership of AOPSHON (Association of Primary School Head Teachers of Nigeria), Ikosi-Ejinrin chapter, at the Council Secretariat, Anomo said the move was aimed at easing day-to-day school operations and strengthening grassroots education.
He stated: “Our children deserve the best learning environment possible, and this allowance will help the schools meet their immediate needs and enhance teaching and learning.”

The delegation, who presented a gift to the Chairman in recognition of his contributions to education, commended his administration’s proactive steps.
The first tranche of the allowance has already been disbursed, allowing schools to prepare adequately for the new academic session which began yesterday.
A Head Teacher expressed relief at the gesture, saying: “This is a great relief for us as administrators. With this support, we can focus more on our pupils’ academic growth rather than struggling with operational challenges.”
Education Secretary, Otunba Shittu Aliu Idowu, added: “What the Chairman has done is unprecedented. It shows that education is a top priority in Ikosi-Ejinrin, and we are confident this will inspire better outcomes.”
With this allowance, the Anomo-led administration has further solidified its commitment to making education accessible, sustainable, and impactful for every child in Ikosi-Ejinrin.
