President Bola Tinubu has expressed his profound condolences to the families and colleagues of the victims who died in the fire outbreak at the Afriland Building on Lagos Island.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that according to Eko Hot Blog, the tragic incident on Tuesday claimed the lives of at least 10 victims, including four staff members from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and six from United Capital.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu said, “The President extended his sympathies to the management and staff of Afriland Properties Limited, United Bank for Africa (UBA), and the other companies affected by the blaze.”
He also wished “a quick recovery to the injured victims who are currently receiving medical care.” The President commended the “swift and courageous response of emergency teams, including the Federal Fire Service, medical personnel, and members of the public who assisted with the evacuation efforts.”
Tinubu emphasized the need for “greater caution and alertness to prevent future tragedies.” He called for “more training and improved safety measures to help organizations and individuals respond effectively during such emergencies.”
The President concluded his message with “prayers for the souls of the departed and for comfort for their grieving families.”
The Afriland Building fire was one of two separate fire incidents that rocked the Lagos Island Business District on Tuesday, causing significant damage and raising concerns about fire safety in the busy commercial hub.
