Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth League has accused Governor Seyi Makinde of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of neglecting governance for what they call an “unrealistic presidential ambition.”
In a statement released, the group’s coordinator, Ayobami Dagilogba, claimed that Makinde is frittering away state resources on personal political pursuits.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that APC youth group specifically criticized the governor’s recent distribution of expensive cars to his close associates, labeling it a “Father Christmas” gesture. They argued that this extravagance sharply contrasts with the state’s pressing developmental needs.
The statement pointed out that Governor Makinde’s administration has not built any new model schools, has seen a mass exodus of medical personnel from government hospitals, and has stifled grassroots development by failing to grant local governments autonomy.
While criticizing the PDP government, the youth league also addressed the challenges within its own party. The statement urged the APC to unite and build a formidable front for the upcoming elections.
They called for the inclusion of young people and genuine reconciliation among aggrieved members. The group warned against the imposition of candidates, insisting that only a level playing field and internal democracy would strengthen the party.
In a final display of loyalty, Dagilogba announced that the group will hold a “Tinubu Loyalty Walk” on October 4 to show solidarity with President Bola Tinubu and the APC.
When contacted for a response, Governor Makinde’s Chief Press Secretary, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, simply said, “We shall not dignify the statement with a response.”
