EKO HOT BLOG reports that the initiative, which took place on Thursday at the council secretariat, aims to help families during the start of the new academic session.
A press statement from the LCDA today confirmed that hundreds of pupils benefited from the gesture, receiving back-to-school items like exercise books. Parents and guardians also received financial support to help them cover other school-related expenses.
The council chairperson explained that the intervention is part of her administration’s commitment to promoting quality education and reducing financial strain on families.
”We recognise the challenges many parents face at the beginning of every academic year. This initiative is to ensure that no child in Agboyi-Ketu is left behind,” she said.
This distribution is the latest in a series of community-focused programs by the Abubakar administration, which has prioritized education, youth empowerment, and social welfare.
In August, the chairman also provided 300 free General Certificate Examination (GCE) forms to school leavers within the council.
Im the recent council poll, Abubakar, who belongs to the All Progressives Congress (APC), emerged victorious with a significant margin.
