A member of the All Progressives Congress APC National Caucus, Sam Nkire, has called for reconciliation between President Bola Tinubu and the leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

He stated that collaboration between the parties could strengthen Tinubu’s electoral prospects and emphasised the need for constructive dialogue between the APC and the NNPP.

Describing political collaboration as a possible factor in shaping the 2027 contest, Nkire noted that such a move could consolidate support in northern Nigeria, where Kwankwaso remains an influential figure.
The appeal comes amid ongoing speculation over political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections. While some speculate that the former Kano State governor may return to the APC, Kwankwaso’s supporters insist he will contest and win the 2027 presidential election.
