- Chairman pledges solar borehole and solar upgrades for Poka Primary School
- Parents, teachers, and community leaders applaud immediate response
- Initiative part of ongoing 80,000 book distribution across Eredo LCDA
The Executive Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, has promised to provide a solar-powered borehole and solar energy upgrades for Poka Primary School and the wider Poka community, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to grassroots development and quality education.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Hon. Akinloye made the pledge during the ongoing distribution of exercise books to pupils in public schools across the LCDA.
While addressing teachers, parents, and pupils at Poka Primary School, he commended the Headmistress for maintaining a clean, well-organized environment and for the improvements already made within the school.
According to him, “The impression I got from this school today shows dedication and seriousness from the management.
This is why it is only right that the community gets urgent support to improve learning conditions.”

When asked about the school’s most pressing needs, the Headmistress appealed for a water system and solar energy upgrades to better serve the pupils, especially those in kindergarten and nursery classes.
Hon. Akinloye immediately approved the requests, announcing, “By next week, we will provide a solar borehole and also upgrade the school’s power supply with solar so that pupils and the entire Poka community can enjoy clean water and reliable electricity for learning and daily life.”
Parents and community members present at the event welcomed the development with joy. A parent representative, Mrs. Adeola, said,
“We are grateful for this quick response. Water and electricity are basic needs, and having them will ease the stress of both pupils and parents.”
Hon. Akinloye reaffirmed that his administration’s focus goes beyond providing books and learning materials, stressing the importance of infrastructure, digital facilities, and basic amenities to create a conducive atmosphere for pupils.
The event formed part of the 80,000 exercise book distribution exercise across the 19 public primary schools in Eredo LCDA.
