Former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State and former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Solomon Ewuga, has passed away at the age of 70.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Ewuga, a seasoned politician, began his notable political career in 1999 when he was elected Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State under the administration of Governor Abdullahi Adamu.
Few months into his tenure, he was appointed Minister of State for the FCT by then-President Olusegun Obasanjo, marking the beginning of his contributions at the federal level.
He later served as Senator representing Nasarawa North Senatorial District between 2011 and 2015 under the platform of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).
During his tenure in the National Assembly, Ewuga was recognised for his dedication to legislative duties and his commitment to advancing the interests of his people.
The death of the political leader has been described as a major loss to Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large. Governor Abdullahi Sule, in a statement he personally signed on Wednesday, expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the former deputy governor.
He said Ewuga’s death was not only a personal loss to his family and the Eggon nation but also to the state and the nation, given his invaluable contributions to political development, peace-building, and the mentorship of young leaders.
Governor Sule described Ewuga as a consummate grassroots politician, an astute administrator, and a true patriot who dedicated his life to selfless service. “In his roles as Deputy Governor, Minister, and Senator, the late Ewuga exemplified humility, courage, and commitment to leadership,” the governor said.
The governor extended condolences to Ewuga’s family, the Eggon traditional council, his associates, and the people of Nasarawa, praying for the peaceful repose of his soul.
