No fewer than six persons were rescued on Wednesday evening after a two-storey building collapsed on Modupeola Street, Mangoro, in the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed the incident in a statement on his official Instagram handle.

He said operatives of the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA) and other first responders arrived swiftly at the scene.
According to Omotoso, five of the victims were taken to a nearby private hospital, while one trapped victim who sustained a fracture and multiple bruises was rescued and transported by the Lagos State Ambulance Service to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) Surgical Emergency Unit.

“A two-storey building has collapsed at 4, Modupeola Street, Mangoro bus stop, Alimosho, Lagos State. The cause of the incident, which occurred around 6 p.m., was not immediately known. Government officials have launched a probe into the incident,” Omotoso stated.
He added that the 44-year-old patient rescued from the rubble resides at 10, Olabode Street, Alimosho, and arrived at the hospital in stable condition before being admitted for further treatment.
