EKO HOT BLOG reports that speaking on Arise Television on Friday, ADC chieftain Chille Igbawua pushed back against suggestions that the movement’s figurehead, Peter Obi, is detached from the coalition’s activities.
“We definitely need them [the Obidients] in 2027. And several of them are in the leadership of the party of the ADC, as I’m speaking to you,” Igbawua stated.
He stressed that Peter Obi has been actively participating in the coalition’s processes from the start, including the constitution of the reconstituted National Working Committee and NEC.
Igbawua argued that the former Labour Party presidential candidate’s involvement and the placement of his principal associates within the ADC leadership prove he is not an outsider.
While speaking, he confirmed that the coalition is working with Obi and the National Chairman of the Labour Party, despite internal divisions within the Labour Party that have also affected the Obidient movement.
He relied on Obi’s own repeated video and audio declarations as proof of his long-term commitment.
Regarding the future, Igbawua revealed the coalition is focused on building a formidable political structure and developing a strong, workable manifesto and blueprint for an ADC government.
“We are coming ready to start to hit the ground running on day one when we take over, you know, governance in Nigeria,” he affirmed.
