The air in Epe was filled with reflection and reverence on Wednesday, October 1st, as Shababul Ulama, a renowned Islamic society led by Sheikh Idris Ubadallahi Ijaodola
(widely known as More Blessing), held a posthumous birthday prayer for the late HRM Oba (Dr.) Shefiu Olatunji Adewale Bamgbopa Eshinlokun I, the erstwhile OLU-EPE of Epe Kingdom.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the event, hosted at the monarch’s residence, drew clerics, community leaders, and faithful who gathered to honour his enduring legacy.
Delivering a heartfelt lecture, Sheikh More Blessing reflected on the impactful reign of the late king. “Oba Adewale’s achievements will continue to speak for him. His legacies cannot be overemphasized.”

He further recalled the monarch’s devotion to prayers on his birthdays while alive, a tradition now maintained in his memory. “October 1st was always a day of special prayers for the king, and we cannot allow this noble practice to fade away.”
Amid growing anticipation over succession to the royal stool, Sheikh More Blessing urged peace and unity within the kingdom.
“I call on every son and daughter of Epe to remain calm. At times like this, patience and wisdom are needed more than ever.”
The gathering was not only a spiritual reflection but also a reminder of the monarch’s place in the hearts of his people.
