A disturbing video circulating on social media has sparked outrage after showing severe bruises allegedly inflicted on a young pupil by her teacher at a private school in Abakpa Nike, Enugu State.

In the viral clip, the pupil’s mother is seen crying uncontrollably as she displays her child’s injuries and calls for the teacher responsible to be brought out. Bystanders could also be heard consoling her while urging calm.
“I want to show you people my baby’s wound. Are you seeing what a teacher did to my child?” the distraught mother cried, her voice breaking with emotion.
According to her, she rushed to the school after receiving a call that her child had been brutally flogged and could barely walk.
The heartbreaking video has sparked a heated debate online, with many Nigerians condemning the growing cases of corporal punishment in schools and demanding stricter regulations to protect pupils from abuse.
As of the time of filing this report, the school management and the Enugu State Ministry of Education have yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
