Legislative aides working at the National Assembly under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have pledged their backing for President Bola Tinubu’s possible re-election bid in 2027, promising to mobilise voters nationwide in his support.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the he commitment was announced on Wednesday in Abuja by the group’s National Coordinator, Ayoola Fakunle, during their formal induction into the APC Support Groups Council.

The declaration comes as political preparations for the 2027 general elections begin to gather pace, with the ruling party strengthening its grassroots networks through affiliated organisations.

Addressing attendees at the event, Fakunle described legislative aides as a well-structured political bloc with presence at federal, state and local government levels.
According to her, members of the group are spread across polling units nationwide, giving them strategic reach ahead of future elections.
She explained that eligibility for membership in the group requires possession of a valid Permanent Voter Card as well as membership of the APC.
Fakunle said the aides were committed to working toward securing another term for the President, whom she described as a former senator and principal
. She added that the group would also support lawmakers and other party leaders in their respective constituencies across the country.
Although President Tinubu has not officially declared his intention to contest in 2027, several support groups within the APC have begun organising in anticipation of a second-term bid.

Also speaking at the inauguration, Director-General of the APC Support Groups Council, Sadiq Jikta, said incorporating the legislative aides into the council would strengthen the party’s mobilisation efforts.
He noted that expanding the network of active support groups was key to the party’s preparations for the next election cycle, adding that further mobilisation initiatives would be unveiled in due course.
The event underscores increasing political activity within the ruling party as attention gradually shifts toward the 2027 polls.
