As part of activities marking Customer Service Week, the Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Epe, Dr. Adeleke Adesola Kaka, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to patients and residents of Epe for their trust and patronage.
Eko Hot Blog reports that he assured them that FMC Epe will continue to provide top-quality healthcare services that are affordable and accessible.
Dr. Adeleke emphasized that FMC Epe is not just a hospital but a community institution designed to serve Epe and beyond, highlighting the steady flow of patients coming from locations as far as Lekki, Benin, and Ijebu-Ode since the centre took over from the General Hospital.
According to him, visible improvements have already been recorded across critical departments, including pediatrics, orthopedic care, and laboratory services, with more medical specialists set to join in the coming months.

“We appreciate Lagos State Government for allowing some of their clinical staff to stay back until FMC staff fully come on board. Orthopedic doctors and gynecologists are already working, and more professionals will soon join us,” he said.
He went on to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the establishment of FMC in Epe, while also applauding the role played by the Former Honourable Minister of State for Health & Social Welfare & Honourable Minister for Education Dr. Tunji Alausa, in bringing the vision to life.
Addressing affordability, Dr. Adeleke stressed that FMC Epe has deliberately kept its services within reach of ordinary citizens.
“The Minister has always emphasized affordability. Out-of-pocket payment is not sustainable, insurance is the way forward. Both Lagos State and National Health Insurance Schemes are available here at FMC Epe,” he explained.
Beyond clinical services, the Medical Director revealed that FMC Epe is also positioning itself as a centre for medical education and training.
The School of Nursing project, which is already underway, will provide opportunities for young people in Epe and neighboring communities to pursue professional careers in nursing without having to travel long distances.
“The school of nursing is a critical part of our future vision. The hostel construction is ongoing, and the main college project has already been awarded.
Once completed, students will be admitted, and this will not only build local capacity but also improve healthcare delivery across Lagos State and Nigeria at large,” Dr. Adeleke explained.
He stressed that the establishment of the School of Nursing will make FMC Epe a training hub, preparing the next generation of nurses and ensuring sustainable human resources for health in the country.
