The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the redeployment of Prince Segun Osinaike, Tutor-General and Permanent Secretary of Education District IV, to oversee Education District III, in a move described as both strategic and symbolic within the state’s education sector.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the announcement, made on Thursday, has been widely celebrated as a homecoming for Prince Osinaike, whose illustrious teaching and administrative journey began in the Epe Zone — one of the key areas under District III, fondly known as The Glowing District.
Reacting to the development, Prince Osinaike expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Governor for the confidence reposed in him to further elevate education in Lagos State under the THEMES Plus agenda.
“I am deeply honoured by the confidence His Excellency, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has shown in me,” he said. “This redeployment is more than a new assignment; it’s a homecoming to where my career first took flight.
I assure all stakeholders that I am coming with renewed vigour and a greater commitment to excellence. We will push boundaries, inspire change, and light up The Glowing District with unmatched educational innovation.”
Reflecting on his tenure at Education District IV, Prince Osinaike noted that his administration implemented several impactful reforms that improved learning standards, enhanced teacher welfare, and raised student performance across schools.
He pledged to replicate and amplify these achievements in his new district.
He also extended his appreciation to Mr. Bode Agoro, the Lagos State Head of Service, for his unwavering guidance and leadership, which he described as instrumental in driving reforms within the state’s civil service.
Speaking about his recent recognition as a recipient of the Lagos State Long Service Award, the education leader described it as a humbling and motivating experience.
“The Long Service Award is not just a pat on the back; it is a challenge to keep striving, to keep giving more,” he remarked.

“As I take up the mantle in District III, I am reminded that in Lagos, the reward for hard work is truly more work — and I embrace it wholeheartedly.”
Education stakeholders have welcomed his redeployment with optimism, expressing confidence that his experience, discipline, and visionary leadership will drive the continued success of the district and align with the state’s education transformation goals.
Prince Osinaike’s appointment to District III reflects the government’s commitment to consolidating gains in the education sector and ensuring that no district is left behind in the pursuit of excellence.
