Popular gospel artist Frank Edwards paid tribute to the late Nigerian evangelist Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, revealing that the preacher’s ministry miraculously healed him as a child.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that in an emotional post on Instagram, Edwards shared that he received healing from both asthma and pneumonia at age eight during one of Ukpai’s crusades in Enugu.

The award-winning singer, who often shares his story of overcoming chronic respiratory illness, described the encounter as a defining moment that freed him from years of dependence on inhalers and shaped his musical career.
Ukpai, the founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, passed away on October 6, 2025, at 80.
His family confirmed his death, describing it as a “glorious transition” after he dedicated over six decades to evangelism, teaching, and humanitarian service. The family will announce funeral details later.
