The outreach featured an array of health services tailored to the needs of senior citizens, including free blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol checks, general health screenings, eye care, medical consultations, and essential medications. Participants also attended health education sessions focused on preventive care and healthy living.
The Permanent Secretary of the Public Service Office, Mrs. Sukanmi Oyegbola, and her counterpart in Health District II, Dr. Dayo Lajide, led monitoring visits to the centres during the exercise.

Mrs. Oyegbola commended the retirees for their years of dedicated service and encouraged them to take advantage of the opportunity to prioritise their health.
“If you are referred to the hospital, please ensure you go,” she advised. “Use your strength wisely and take good care of your health. Let us all cultivate the habit of regular medical check-ups, eat healthy foods, and take medications as prescribed. Your health is your greatest asset.”
She applauded the large turnout of retirees and expressed appreciation to Health District II for their collaboration.
According to her, the welfare of both serving and retired officers remains a key focus of the THEMES Plus Agenda of Governor Sanwo-Olu, especially in health and social welfare.
Mrs. Oyegbola assured that the government would sustain similar initiatives to promote healthy living and improve the quality of life for senior citizens across Lagos State.
