On Monday, Northern Nigeria starts with sunny skies and scattered clouds but anticipates isolated morning thunderstorms in parts of Taraba and southern Kebbi.
The weather will escalate in the afternoon, bringing moderate thunderstorms to states including Adamawa, Kaduna, Borno, and Bauchi. Simultaneously, the Central region will experience cloudy conditions with sun spells, forecasting moderate morning thunderstorms over Niger, Benue, and Kogi, with afternoon downpours expected in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kwara, and Nasarawa.

Southern Nigeria anticipates a cloudy morning, leading to light rain and thunderstorms in states like Ogun, Ondo, and Imo, with moderate thunderstorms becoming prevalent across most of the South by the afternoon.
The mixed pattern continues into Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday brings sunny skies to the North but carries a risk of moderate afternoon thunderstorms in areas like Kaduna, Taraba, and Adamawa.
The Central and Southern states will experience scattered rain and thunderstorms, with coastal states such as Lagos, Rivers, and Bayelsa expecting morning rain, before thunderstorms become widespread across the regions in the afternoon and evening.

Wednesday maintains this trend, with most regions anticipating a mix of sun and clouds that transition into moderate afternoon thunderstorms.
In light of the predicted rainfall and storm activity, NiMet urged the public to exercise caution. The agency specifically advised motorists to drive with caution during rainfall.
Furthermore, NiMet cautioned residents to secure loose outdoor objects and ensure they disconnect electrical appliances to prevent hazards.

The forecast carries critical information for the agricultural sector. NiMet advised farmers to avoid applying fertilizer and pesticides immediately before the rains.
This precautionary measure helps prevent the leaching of nutrients and ensures the effective use of agricultural inputs.
The agency also advised airline operators to obtain airport-specific weather reports from NiMet for safer operational planning.
