Ibeju-Lekki Local Government has presented a ₦500,000 cash award to Mr. Sanni Yusuf, an indigene of Solu Alade and a first-class graduate of Lagos State University (LASU).

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the award, presented under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, marks the fifth time a first-class indigene of Ibeju-Lekki has been honoured through the Chairman’s academic excellence reward initiative, a program designed to celebrate brilliance, hard work, and intellectual distinction among students.
Speaking on the motivation behind the initiative, Hon. Olowa emphasized that education remains the surest path to individual empowerment and community advancement.
“By rewarding excellence, we are not only celebrating academic success but also inspiring others to aim higher and believe that hard work truly pays,” he said.
He further noted that his administration remains focused on strengthening education at all levels through scholarships, bursaries, infrastructural development, and programs that create equal opportunities for all learners.
Expressing gratitude, Mr. Sanni Yusuf appreciated the Council for recognizing his efforts and pledged to continue contributing to the development of Ibeju-Lekki. He described the gesture as a great motivation for other students to strive for academic excellence.
“I am deeply grateful for this recognition. It shows that our community values education and is ready to support its youth toward greatness,” he said.
