The motion to endorse President Tinubu as the APC’s sole presidential candidate was moved by the party’s former Deputy National Secretary, Barr. Festus Fuanter, and seconded by the State Woman Leader, Hon. Alice Dimlong. The motion was unanimously supported by all attendees.
Fuanter also moved a motion rejecting any attempt by the current state governor, Caleb Mutfwang, to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC , a proposal that was equally endorsed by the stakeholders.
Speaking at the meeting, Senator Lalong described the endorsement as well-deserved, noting that President Tinubu has shown commitment to national development and carried Plateau State along in his administration.
“From appointing me as his campaign DG in 2023 to elevating Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda as National Chairman, the President has proven his trust in Plateau people,” Lalong said. “We are united, strong, and ready to deliver again in 2027.”

The APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe, commended members for their loyalty and reaffirmed that President Tinubu has revived the economy and repositioned the country for progress.
He announced that the party will hold a mass decampees’ reception on October 30, 2025, to be attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, and chaired by Arch. P.D. Gyang of the APC Elders Committee.
Prof. Nentawe also revealed plans to launch a ₦100 million youth business challenge next week, alongside an empowerment programme for women and other special groups.
APC State Chairman Hon. Rufus Bature welcomed party leaders back home, while other speakers, including Rt. Hon. Idris Wase, Rt. Hon. Daniel Naanlong Gapyil, and Dame Pauline Tallen, emphasised unity and cautioned members against internal division.
