Prince Andrew has announced he is giving up his titles, including the Duke of York, following mounting public and family pressure over his links with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that Andrew’s statement affirmed his family agreed his ongoing allegations distract from the King’s work, and he continues to “vigorously deny the accusations against me.”

The prince said he had decided to put his duty to his family and country above personal interests and would no longer use his titles or honours. His decision was made in consultation with both King Charles and Prince William.
Although he will remain a prince, Andrew will no longer be known as the Duke of York, a title given to him by the late Queen Elizabeth. He had already stepped back from public life in 2019 and lost the use of his HRH title.
His former wife, Sarah Ferguson, will also cease to use the Duchess of York title, though their daughters will remain princesses. Andrew is expected to continue living at his private residence, Royal Lodge, in Windsor.

The prince’s decision follows renewed scrutiny of his relationship with Epstein and the upcoming publication of a memoir by Virginia Giuffre, who accused him of sexual assault when she was 17.
Giuffre’s brother, Sky Roberts, said the development brought mixed emotions, adding that his late sister “would be proud” that her efforts had led to some form of justice.
