Speaking to reporters on Monday, Trump said he believed the fighting might come to a close “within the next two to three weeks,” describing the ongoing violence as “death in its rawest form.”
While Trump has previously made bold statements about halting the war, those comments have yet to result in concrete action such as a ceasefire or improved humanitarian access.
The Trump administration previously approved billions in arms deals with Israel and blocked international steps to formally recognise a Palestinian state.
“It needs to end because what’s happening now goes beyond hunger. It’s just death. People are being killed every day.”
Back in February, Trump had suggested that Palestinians should be removed from Gaza entirely a move widely condemned as ethnic cleansing, which is considered a crime under international law.

When questioned about the incident, Trump said he was unaware but responded: “It’s not something I want to see. I don’t like it. But we need to bring this to an end.”
He also shifted attention to his ongoing efforts to secure the release of Israeli hostages still held in Gaza.
