Speaking at Iworoko-Ekiti, Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area, during the commissioning of the Ado-Ekiti Ring Road Phase 1, Sanwo-Olu declared support for Oyebanji’s re-election, noting that continuity was crucial to sustaining the gains of the current administration.

The event was part of activities marking Oyebanji’s third year in office.
Sanwo-Olu applauded the Ekiti State House of Assembly for its cooperation with the executive arm, saying the synergy had fast-tracked the state’s development. He described the newly commissioned road as a strategic project that would open new economic corridors and ease traffic congestion in the capital city.
“You have a man who, in three years, has done what some people can’t do in four or five years. He has shown that leadership is about service, not showmanship or self-enrichment. Ekiti can’t afford to reject you for a second term,” the Lagos governor said.
Sanwo-Olu added that Oyebanji’s approach to governance mirrored President Bola Tinubu’s leadership ideals, focusing on delivery, accountability, and people-centered development.
“This is not politics or rhetoric; this is achievement we can touch and feel,” he said. “From road infrastructure to healthcare and youth empowerment, these are visible dividends of democracy. A second term for him means more prosperity and progress for Ekiti.”

He urged Ekiti residents to vote massively for Oyebanji in the 2026 election, assuring that continuity in governance would deepen economic transformation and align with the President’s Renewed Hope agenda.
Governor Oyebanji, in his remarks, said the 17.85km Ado-Ekiti Ring Road Phase 1 was designed to decongest the capital and boost commerce along adjoining communities such as Iworoko, Afao, Are, Igbemo, and Araromi-Obo. He noted that the road would stimulate new urban settlements and industrial growth.
He disclosed that his administration had also built 103 modern primary healthcare centres across the state to enhance access to quality medical services.
“With your support, I will break the jinx of discontinuity in Ekiti in 2026,” Oyebanji said. “This is the era of sustained governance for development, happiness, and prosperity.”
The Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe, praised the governor’s leadership, describing him as “a man well-prepared for this role.” He lauded Oyebanji’s inclusive governance and economic vision, which have earned him broad-based endorsement from traditional, political, and civic groups.
The contractor, Mr. Elie Adem of Craneburg Construction Company, described the project as a major step toward improving regional connectivity and supporting economic growth in Ekiti State.
