- unlawfully inviting Julius Abure to a party leaders’ meeting

The Senator Nenadi Usman-led faction of the Labour Party (LP) has called for the arrest of the Acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mrs. May Agbamuche-Mbu, accusing her of criminal collaboration with former LP National Chairman Julius Abure.
Eko Hot Blog reports that, in a statement by spokesperson Ken Asogwa, the Usman-led faction accused INEC’s Acting Chair, May Agbamuche-Mbu, of unlawfully inviting Julius Abure to a party leaders’ meeting despite a Supreme Court ruling upholding Usman’s leadership.

The statement claimed that Mrs. Agbamuche-Mbu justified her action by citing a court order supposedly recognizing Abure, but the Usman-led faction insists no such order exists.
According to Asogwa, investigations revealed that although Abure filed a case (Suit No: CV/1914/2025) before the FCT High Court, Gwagwalada, the court confirmed that it never issued any order in his favor.
The group accused INEC’s acting leadership of relying on a “fabricated and non-existent” court order to legitimize an illegal act, calling it a politically motivated attempt to undermine justice.

It further argued that even if such an order existed, it would still be void, given the Supreme Court’s clear judgment of April 4, 2025, which upheld Usman as the legitimate LP leader.
The party urged members nationwide to prepare for peaceful protests and called on the incoming INEC Chairman to investigate the matter and rid the commission of officials colluding with politicians.
