EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, Fubara said sustainable development and progress can only thrive in a peaceful and united environment.
The governor made the remarks on Saturday during a civic reception in honour of his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu, held at Government Secondary School, Akabuka, in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA).
Fubara stressed that his administration remains committed to fostering peace, adding that political actors who were once divided are now attending public functions together, which he described as a clear sign that peace has returned to the state.
“We can’t develop in an environment of chaos. We can’t attract any project to Akabuka when there is a problem. Our disposition has always been towards maintaining peace because it is the only way we can move forward,” the governor stated.
He announced plans to rehabilitate internal roads in Akabuka and renovate the Government Secondary School, promising swift action from the Ministry of Education and relevant agencies.
Fubara also acknowledged the contributions of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, in his emergence as governor, saying he remains grateful for the support.
In her remarks, Deputy Governor Odu expressed deep gratitude, describing the reception as a symbol of unity and love within her community. She also thanked President Bola Tinubu, Wike, and former governor Peter Odili for their roles in her political journey.

The event featured traditional performances, including a 21-cannon salute and the rare Ebukele dance, witnessed only once in a decade.
