The ongoing General Court Martial trying 36 Nigerian military personnel over an alleged plot to overthrow the administration of President Bola Tinubu was disrupted on Wednesday after one of the defendants, identified as Captain M.L. Muhammad, reportedly collapsed while in detention.
According to multiple security sources familiar with the proceedings, the court was unable to continue sitting following the medical emergency involving the officer.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the 36 military personnel are currently standing trial over allegations linked to an alleged coup plot. The case remains before the court, and none of the defendants has been convicted.
Sources alleged that Captain Muhammad collapsed on Tuesday night after developing serious health complications while being held in detention.
The officer was reportedly said to have suffered convulsions, repeated vomiting, seizures and breathing difficulties before he was taken out of the detention facility for medical attention.
A senior security source claimed the incident forced the suspension of Wednesday’s court proceedings.
“Yesterday night, he collapsed while in the detention facility,” the source said.
The source added that the officer’s current condition and whereabouts remain unclear.
“We don’t know now whether he is in the hospital receiving treatment. We don’t know whether he is alive or he is dead,” the source alleged.
The security sources further claimed that Captain Muhammad had been detained in an underground facility operated by the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA). They alleged that his medical condition resulted from prolonged exposure to radiation emitted by a signal jamming device installed within the facility.
According to the sources, detainees in the facility have allegedly experienced breathing difficulties, persistent headaches, dizziness, seizures, memory loss, hearing impairment and vision problems.
One source further alleged that the signal jamming device competed for the limited artificial air supplied within the underground detention facility, worsening conditions for those in custody.
Another source claimed that several of the detained military personnel had developed various health complications after spending weeks in the facility.

The Nigerian military and the Defence Intelligence Agency have not publicly responded to the allegations at the time of filing this report.
