EKO HOT BLOG reports that the initiative is part of the government’s renewed effort to tackle unemployment and promote youth entrepreneurship through targeted skill acquisition, mentorship, and business funding. YEIDEP aims to empower young Nigerians with financial support and practical training to help them build sustainable livelihoods.
Through the scheme, eligible applicants can access between ₦50,000 and ₦500,000 in funding to start or expand small businesses across key sectors.
According to the organisers, the programme is open to Nigerian citizens aged 18 to 35 who possess valid National Identification Numbers (NIN) and Bank Verification Numbers (BVN). Applicants must also operate accounts with Lotus Bank, Keystone Bank, or Fidelity Bank.
Interested participants are expected to demonstrate genuine interest in any of the approved sectors, which include agriculture, technology, fashion, entertainment, sports, renewable energy, and other productive industries.
Successful beneficiaries will undergo entrepreneurship training, mentorship sessions, and enterprise development programmes designed to improve their business management capacity and ensure sustainability.
Applicants are to complete their registration through the official YEIDEP portal and are urged to follow the verified Facebook page of the programme for credible updates and information.

The initiative was earlier postponed following reports of fraudulent individuals attempting to extort money from unsuspecting applicants. With the reopening, the Federal Government has assured transparency and a secure verification process to ensure that only qualified youths benefit from the scheme.
