Grammy nominated singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has announced plans to visit Osun State to collect his Accord Party membership card, days after his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, formally defected to the party.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Davido made the announcement on Tuesday through his social media platforms, stating that he would be at the Osun State Government House in Osogbo to receive his membership card. He tagged the governor in the post, signalling his support for the new political alignment.

The development comes amid recent political changes in Osun State following Governor Adeleke’s resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party and his defection to the Accord Party. The governor officially announced his move on December 9, 2025, at the Government House Banquet Hall, in the presence of national and state leaders of the party, where he also declared his intention to seek re election in 2026.
Governor Adeleke said he joined the Accord Party after weeks of consultations with stakeholders, describing the party’s welfarist ideology as consistent with his administration’s focus on citizens’ welfare. He added that the party would serve as the platform for continuity ahead of the next governorship election.
The governor had earlier resigned from the PDP on December 1, citing persistent leadership crises at the party’s national level. He confirmed that his resignation letter was submitted to party officials in Sagba Abogunde, Ward 2, Ede North Local Government Area, on November 4, 2025.
Davido had earlier reacted to his uncle’s resignation by reposting the announcement on social media with the caption “Jeje,” drawing public attention to the political development.
