In a fresh post, the U.S. leader said Washington would immediately halt all aid and assistance to Nigeria, warning that military intervention could follow if the violence persists.
Trump stated that the United States might “go into that now disgraced country, guns a blazing,” to completely wipe out what he described as Islamic terrorists responsible for the killings of Christians.
In his words:
“If the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the U.S.A. will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria and may very well go into that now disgraced country, guns a blazing, to completely wipe out the Islamic terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities.

I am hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action. If we attack, it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our cherished Christians. Warning: The Nigerian Government better move fast!”
The statement has generated a flurry of reactions from Nigerians at home and abroad, with many taking to social media to express diverse opinions on the development.
Meanwhile, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Nigerian government have, in separate statements, rejected President Trump’s designation of Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern.
