The National Vice Chairman (South-South) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Emmanuel Ogidi, has insisted that the party will continue preparations for its national convention despite a court order halting the exercise.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that speaking on ARISE News on Friday, Ogidi, said the PDP has already filed an appeal against the Federal High Court ruling and remains committed to following due process.

“We are acting within our guidelines. What happened in court today was more of a drama, but we have appealed and will continue our preparations because we are confident we’re doing the right thing,” he said.

Ogidi dismissed criticisms from the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, accusing him and his associates of working against the party. “They are not genuine PDP members as far as I’m concerned,” he stated.
He recalled the 2016–2017 leadership crisis involving Ali Modu Sheriff, saying the PDP had faced similar challenges in the past and would overcome this one as well.
Addressing claims that congresses were not held in 12 states, Ogidi said the allegations were exaggerated, noting that only a few wards had issues.

He added that the party had submitted its statutory 21-day notice to INEC, dismissing reports to the contrary.
Ogidi expressed confidence that the convention, scheduled for November 15–16, would go ahead as planned, urging party members to remain united.
“This phase will pass. The PDP has always survived storms, and we will emerge stronger,” he concluded.
