“Irrespective of political leaning and affiliation, this is the time to show our patriotic zeal. We must all bear in mind that we must have the country first before thinking of any ambition,” Oba Makama stated.
Commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for improving the welfare of the Nigerian Armed Forces since assuming office on May 29, 2023, the monarch urged him to do more to motivate the troops battling terrorism across the country.
He also praised the newly appointed Service Chiefs for their swift actions after assuming office but urged them to intensify efforts to neutralise terrorist groups threatening national security.

“Your appointment comes at a defining moment in our nation’s history. I urge the Service Chiefs to ensure that all resources both human and material are deployed effectively to end the insurgency,” the monarch said.
In a rare appeal to the international community, Oba Makama called on former U.S. President Donald Trump to support Nigeria with actionable intelligence and technical platforms to help bring an end to terrorism.
“I appeal to President Donald Trump to help Nigeria by sharing actionable intelligence and usable platforms that would end the insurgents as soon as possible,” he added.
