The ancient town of Epe was filled with jubilation and appreciation on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, as the Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, took to the streets and major markets to empower residents with cash grants.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in celebration of her 100 days in office and through her signature Monthly “Renewed Hope” Cash Grant Initiative, the Chairman, fondly known as Iya Epe, personally led her team across various communities to support traders, artisans, and small business owners.

The outreach brought smiles and relief to beneficiaries as chants of “Iya Epe ti de!” echoed throughout the markets, with residents expressing gratitude for her consistent people-centered governance.
Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Animashaun emphasized that the initiative is beyond monetary support, stressing its significance in strengthening grassroots economy and restoring optimism among the people.

“This initiative is not just about giving cash; it’s about rekindling hope, supporting small businesses, and reminding our people that Epe’s progress is everyone’s progress,” she said.
Market women, youths, and elderly residents applauded the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful, especially in supporting daily survival and business sustainability.
The visit reaffirmed her leadership approach anchored on empathy, inclusiveness, and visible community service.
