The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Prince Abdulateef Adedayo Ladega, on Tuesday celebrated his first 100 days in office with a grand empowerment programme and commissioning of developmental projects across the council area.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the commemorative ceremony, held at the Musical Village, Ikorodu, drew a massive crowd of residents, political leaders, and royal fathers, reflecting the collective pride in the administration’s early accomplishments.

The event featured the distribution of empowerment items to hundreds of beneficiaries, including women and youths across the seven wards of the local government.
Items distributed include tailoring machines, grinding machines, generator sets, mini tractor machines for farmers, hair dryers, freezers, gas cylinders, vulcanizer machines, barbing tools, and catering equipment, among others.
Speaking during the event, Prince Ladega emphasized the essence of the 100-day milestone as a moment of accountability and renewal of commitment to the people.

“The significance of 100 days in office is to render account to the people and let them know that they didn’t elect a statue but someone who can represent them well,” he said.
“I want to show that I’m capable, and with God on our side, Ikorodu will become a city.”
He highlighted several landmark achievements his administration had recorded within its short time in office, particularly in infrastructure, education, health, sports, security, agriculture, and economic empowerment.
Key among the projects listed were the construction and rehabilitation of major link roads, improvement of drainage systems, and provision of clean, reliable water through solar-powered boreholes.
He noted that notable works had been completed or were ongoing at the 2-in-1 road behind the cemetery, Muhammed Ajayi Street, Ayegbami Street, Sabo, CAC Street, Benson, Lawal Oluwanisola Street, Sabo, Ajegunle Street, Ward F, and Itundofin, where a solar-powered borehole was installed.

The occasion was graced by prominent dignitaries, including the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, HRM Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi; the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali; and the Alagura of Agura, HRM Oba Ahmed Olakunle Ogunnaike.
Also in attendance were top political figures such as Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, former Deputy Governor of Lagos State;
Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, former SSG; Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, former Minister of Works and GAC member; Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission; Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson (MHR),
represented by Mayor Deen Sanwoola; Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye, Lagos State House of Assembly member; and Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), Chairman of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA.
Other notable dignitaries present include Hon. SOB Agunbiade, Otunba Olusesan Mayokun Daini, and Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, among others.
Prince Ladega reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining the tempo of development and inclusiveness that his administration had demonstrated in its first 100 days, promising to deliver more projects that would further enhance the lives of residents.
“This administration will not relent in improving the standard of living of our people,” he said. “We are building a new Ikorodu that stands for progress, inclusiveness, and shared prosperity.”
