The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, of attempting to regain political relevance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the party rejected Amaechi’s recent call for Nigerians to mobilise against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing it as “another political hallucination.”

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Ogba, Lagos, APC spokesman Seye Oladejo said, “Amaechi is free to dream, but he must stop mistaking his nightmares for national reality. He is a political orphan, disowned in Rivers State, irrelevant nationally, and steadily sinking into total political oblivion.”

Oladejo added that Amaechi has lost his structure, followers, and influence, questioning his ability to lead any meaningful national movement. “A man who cannot command a polling unit cannot mobilise a nation,” he said.
The APC spokesman contrasted Amaechi’s claims with Tinubu’s achievements, citing national projects and reforms that include NELFUND programmes, SME support through Creditcorp, record foreign direct investment interest, and large-scale infrastructure modernisation in highways, rail, ports, and aviation. He also highlighted reforms in agriculture, mining, and security as stabilising the country’s future.
“This is why even opposition voters privately admit that Tinubu is far ahead of any contender,” Oladejo said. He warned that Amaechi’s call for mobilisation is not a serious political movement but rather a “cry for help” from a politician whose influence has waned.
Oladejo concluded, “Nigerians know that 2027 will reward leadership, courage, and results. Tinubu has all three in abundance. Amaechi cannot be resurrected; he cannot defeat a performing president.”
