In a bold step towards enhancing road infrastructure and boosting community connectivity, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Otunba (Akogun) Wale Raji Anomo, has officially flagged off the construction of Aledo/Owu Street in Owu-Ikosi community, Ward F1.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the strategic road, linking Old Otta Road and Lateef Jakande Way (Agbowa-Owu), is a vital route for residents, traders, and motorists within the community.

The 300-metre-long and 6.5-metre-wide road will feature dual covered drainage systems on both sides and solar-powered streetlights, ensuring safety and sustainability.
The groundbreaking ceremony attracted notable figures, including the Council Manager, Mr. Sunday Awobajo; Otunba Nurudeen Yusuf; Chief of Staff, Hon. Jayesimi Ibraheem; Council Treasurer, Mr. Lawal Adeshina;
Leader of the House, Hon. Hassan Mustapha; Ward F1 Councillor (Deputy Leader), Hon. Ganiyu Selim; Chief L.K. Jimoh; Hon. Adesanya Shakirat; Chairman of Ward Chairmen, Hon. Saheed Abass; Council Engineer, Engr. Lawal; and former Supervisor for Works, Hon. Yusuf Babatunde, among others.

Speaking during the ceremony, Hon. Anomo reaffirmed his administration’s determination to prioritize people-oriented projects that foster development and improve living standards.
“Aledo/Owu Street is not just another local road — it connects two major routes and serves as an essential bypass for commuters and business owners.
This project reflects our continued promise to improve lives through sustainable infrastructure,” he stated.
Otunba Nurudeen Yusuf, in his goodwill message, applauded the Chairman for his unwavering dedication to community progress.
He said, “Hon. Anomo’s administration has remained consistent in delivering meaningful projects that touch the lives of the people directly.” He also urged local youths to cooperate with contractors to ensure timely and smooth execution.
Also speaking, Chief L.K. Jimoh, a respected community leader and APC stalwart, described the project as “a critical infrastructure that will ease traffic flow, boost commerce, and enhance community living.”
