EKO HOT BLOG reports that large posters bearing the governor’s image were mounted at the entrance and across the Adamasingba Stadium, the host venue of the November 15–16 convention.
One banner credited to a group known as Lana Fun Seyi carried the message “Seyi Makinde for President,” while another, signed by Fapetu Stephen from Ido Local Government, read “Relax, Seyi Makinde will fix Nigeria 2027.” The displays immediately drew the attention of delegates, party leaders and observers arriving for the event.
Although speculation about a possible 2027 presidential bid has trailed the governor for months, Makinde has maintained that he will announce his decision at the appropriate time. He earlier described such speculations as unsolicited commentary, noting that he does not need any approval to declare his political future.
The stadium was also lined with posters of other PDP leaders vying for national offices. Campaign materials for Kabiru Turaki, a former Minister of Special Duties seeking the national chairmanship position, were visible at several points. Supporters of former Deputy National Chairman Taofeek Arapaja also displayed posters promoting his bid for the office of National Secretary.

The colourful spread of banners by various support groups and aspirants created a lively pre convention scene as thousands of delegates converged on Ibadan. The convention is expected to produce a new National Working Committee that will lead the party into the 2027 general elections.
