EKO HOT BLOG reports that Anyanwu made the accusation while reacting to the outcome of the PDP’s just-concluded national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State. During the convention, the party leadership announced the expulsion of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, Samuel Anyanwu, and former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, Anyanwu dismissed the convention as illegal, describing the gathering as a “jamboree”. He maintained that the leadership acted outside due process and accused Damagum of creating instability within the party.

According to him, “Damagum is incompetent. He is the cause of the division in the PDP. When I heard somebody yesterday at the convention, when they were celebrating, having their jamboree, saying that we must obey the rules of the party, I laughed.”
