Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening industrial corridors and free zones across the state to attract greater investment and expand economic opportunities, Eko Hot Blog reports.
Speaking at the Lagos State Day ceremony during the 2025 Lagos International Trade Fair organised by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Sanwo-Olu represented by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotosho praised the remarkable achievements of the Lekki Economic Zone (LEZ), which he said has attracted over $25 billion in investments.

He pledged to replicate the success of the Lekki zone across other trade and industrial corridors, adding that new development push will extend to Epe and other emerging economic hubs in the state.
According to him, Lagos is rapidly expanding industrial clusters from the Lekki Free Zone to Agbowa Timberville, the Ibeju-Lekki corridor and other locations to ensure manufacturers, exporters and service providers operate in secure, cost-effective and well-serviced environments.
Sanwo-Olu also highlighted ongoing work on the Small-Scale Industrial Estate in Imota, designed to support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with additional quality production spaces.

He noted that the state has rolled out major financial intervention programmes for MSMEs, including over N25 billion disbursed through the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), the N10 billion LASG-BOI Access to Finance Scheme, export-readiness training for 252 MSMEs, and sponsorship of 20 trade champions to international fairs.
On policy reforms, the governor said Lagos had strengthened its public-private engagement mechanisms through the Lagos Corporate Assembly, ensuring MSMEs and organised businesses contribute directly to policymaking.
He added that the new Lagos State Industrial Policy (LSIP) is a product of these engagements and is designed to position Lagos for competitiveness under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, celebrated the success of the 10-day fair and the unveiling of the largest Lagos State Pavilion ever mounted. She noted that numerous MSMEs recorded instant sales, export interest and new distribution partnerships.
