Hon. Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared winner of the Epe Local Government Chairmanship election, after securing a commanding lead in a three-party race.
Ekohotblog reports that announcing the result at the Epe Collation Centre on Saturday, the Returning Officer, Professor Habeeb Sanni, confirmed that Animashaun polled 34,819 votes, while the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) candidates scored 1,535 and 675 votes respectively.

“It was a transparent, peaceful, and credible process,” said Professor Sanni. “The results reflect the will of the electorate in Epe Local Government.”

The victory confirms Animashaun’s second term in office as the first female Executive Chairman of Epe LG, further strengthening APC’s dominance in the area.
In her acceptance speech, Animashaun expressed deep gratitude to her supporters and key leaders.
“This victory is for the people of Epe—our women, our youths, our children, and everyone who believes in progress,” she said. “I sincerely thank the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Governor and Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Seriki Bamu, Hon. Abiodun Tobun, my father the Oloja of Epe Land, my family, and everyone who stood by me.”
