The Director General of the Atum Humanitarian, Anti Corruption and Charitable Initiative, Hon. Ismaila Atus, has expressed strong confidence that President Bola Tinubu will defeat terrorism, banditry and other security challenges confronting the country.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Atus said the President’s Lagos security model offers a proven template for restoring national stability. Speaking during a media interaction in Abuja, he argued that insecurity worsened under past administrations but noted that Tinubu has shown the determination and political will needed to change the narrative.

Reflecting on Tinubu’s time as governor of Lagos State, Atus said Nigeria stands to benefit from the same security approach that helped transform Lagos from a crime ridden environment into a more stable and prosperous state. He cited initiatives such as Operation Sweep as examples of strategies that restored order in the state.
According to him, the President’s security plan is built on intelligence driven operations and stronger cooperation among security agencies. He added that the renewed push for technology based surveillance and rapid response systems mirrors the methods that helped Lagos reduce crime during Tinubu’s tenure.
“If you knew Lagos before Tinubu took over, you would understand the transformation. There was a time when people could not walk freely, but Lagos later became safe and prosperous under his leadership. The same idea will help Nigeria move forward.
“We all know the situation the country has faced. Kidnappings and many other issues were widespread, but I am optimistic that under President Tinubu things will improve. He is doing everything possible to fix the country,” Atus said.

He urged Nigerians to be patient and to continue supporting the President, insisting that steady public backing will help consolidate the reforms already underway.
“We should give him more time. That is why we are calling for his re election for a second term. With this, Nigeria will be better and more grateful,” he said.
Atus also commended the President’s recent humanitarian and social welfare policies, saying they are aimed at supporting vulnerable Nigerians, creating jobs and reducing hardship. He noted that Tinubu has introduced measures that benefit the elderly, young people and the working population, adding that peace and stability naturally lead to more opportunities.
Atus maintained that Nigerians will see what he described as a positive turnaround under the Tinubu administration and reaffirmed his support for the President’s second term bid.
“He is putting all his energy into building the country. We will support him for a second term so the progress can continue,” he said.
