Designed to boost economic independence, the program offered hands-on sessions that equipped participants with marketable skills and modern business insights.
One of the major highlights was the liquid soap production workshop, where women learned the full production process from start to finish.
“We wanted to ensure that every participant leaves with a skill they can start using immediately,” one of the student facilitators explained.
Participants also received training in branding, helping them understand how to package products professionally and communicate value to customers in a competitive marketplace.
The digital marketing workshop was another high point, introducing the women to tools for using social media and online platforms to grow their businesses.
“Teaching them how to create simple business pages or email accounts is a crucial step in helping them expand their reach,” a facilitator noted.
A session on the basics of import and export further broadened their perspectives, exposing them to opportunities beyond local markets and encouraging them to think bigger about business possibilities.
By the end of the program, several women had already created their own product samples and mapped out business ideas they were eager to pursue.
The atmosphere throughout the training was marked by excitement, collaboration, and renewed confidence.
The initiative is being celebrated as a meaningful contribution to ongoing efforts aimed at empowering women in Ibeju-Lekki, providing not only practical skills but also the inspiration needed to build sustainable ventures.
“This kind of training strengthens our women and uplifts entire families,” one participant said. “It gives us the confidence to start something of our own.”
