China has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Nigeria’s fight against terrorism, strengthening a long-standing diplomatic relationship between both countries.
The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, said this in a statement on Wednesday after meeting with Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that he noted that both nations agreed to deepen cooperation in trade, investment, manufacturing, and strategic partnerships, adding that the China-Nigeria relationship has entered a renewed phase of accelerated growth.
Ambassador Yu highlighted that China and Nigeria have consistently supported each other on issues tied to their core national interests. He further stated that China is ready to implement zero-tariff treatment for Nigerian exports and is preparing activities to mark the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations, as well as the 2026 China-Africa Year of Cultural Exchanges.
According to him, these efforts will help strengthen strategic trust, promote mutually beneficial cooperation, and deliver greater value to citizens of both countries.
Tuggar expressed Nigeria’s appreciation for China’s continued partnership and restated the nation’s commitment to the one-China policy while pledging to further elevate bilateral ties.
