The former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Kola Ologbondiyan, has resigned from the party, citing personal reasons for his departure. His exit was confirmed in a letter he shared on 𝕏 on Saturday.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Ologbondiyan earlier wrote to the Chairman of Okekoko Ward 09 in Kabba Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State, notifying the party of his decision to leave. The letter, dated December 5, 2025, was titled Notification of Membership Withdrawal.
He explained that after reviewing his political journey in the party, he concluded it was time to step aside. “It is now imperative to bring your attention to the fact that I have reviewed my participation in the PDP and came to the conclusion that, for personal reasons, I need to make my exit,” he stated.
Ologbondiyan noted that the decision was final and would take immediate effect. “I have therefore come to a decision to formally withdraw my membership of the PDP, henceforth,” he wrote.
Despite resigning, he expressed appreciation to the party’s leadership for the opportunity to serve.

He acknowledged the trust placed in him during his period as the party’s spokesperson and his years of involvement in the PDP. “Let me start by thanking you, as well as other levels of leadership in the Peoples Democratic Party, for the opportunities provided for me to serve the party as well as our fatherland, Nigeria,” he added.
