EKO HOT BLOG reports that the visit came days after the governor formally left the Peoples Democratic Party, marking his first known engagement at the headquarters of the ruling party since his defection.
Fubara arrived at the APC national secretariat at about 6:50 pm on Wednesday, where he was received by senior party officials.
Those present to welcome the South South governor included the APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, the National Welfare Secretary, Donatus Nwapa, and the Deputy National Organising Secretary, Nze Chidi Duru.
The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, was also in attendance during the visit.
Dressed in a white kaftan and red cap, Fubara told the APC National Secretary that although he was expected at the Progressive Governors’ Meeting, he considered it important to first visit the party’s national headquarters.
Following the brief exchange, the governor was ushered into the office of the National Secretary, where both men held a closed door meeting. Details of their discussion were not disclosed.
The visit is coming amid heightened political realignments ahead of future electoral activities, particularly in Rivers State and the South South region.
