“President Tinubu has broken yet another jinx with his visionary and timely directive aimed at eliminating bureaucratic bottlenecks in sports financing. This is a resounding thank you message to you, our amiable President,” Shaibu said.
He added: “You have not only provided the platform for service but also the enabling environment and tools which have long been the missing link in the history of Nigerian sports.”
Shaibu thanked the President for this milestone, noting that bureaucratic procedures have historically stifled the growth of sports in the country.

“I am indeed proud to witness this revolution in Nigerian sports. The bold intervention by Mr President will enhance the planning, execution, and sustainability of sports programmes nationwide. Timely access to funds will ensure critical infrastructure projects are completed on schedule, training facilities are upgraded, and equipment is procured to meet international standards,” he said.
The NIS DG also highlighted the President’s order to review sports-related allocations currently spread across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), noting that this would bring greater coordination, transparency, and efficiency into sports administration.
“This restructuring will strengthen sports as a national institution, eliminate duplication of roles, and allow for more strategic investment in athlete development and capacity building,” Shaibu added.
