State governors under the Nigeria Governors’ Forum have reaffirmed their commitment to transparent and effective utilisation of funds under the Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus Programme.

The development was disclosed at the conclusion of the Forum’s seventh meeting of 2025, held at its Abuja secretariat, with the outcome communicated through a statement signed by NGF Chairman and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

The communiqué, read by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, stated that the renewed funding would sustain interventions focused on livelihoods, food security, public works and economic resilience across participating states.
The NG-CARES initiative, originally launched in response to COVID-19 shocks, has since been rebranded to address broader economic challenges, with disbursements tied strictly to verified performance outcomes.
Governors pledged to maintain implementation momentum, improve reporting timelines and ensure the funds deliver measurable impact to beneficiaries.
The Forum also announced plans to strengthen security nationwide during the 2025 festive season, citing advisories from the Office of the National Security Adviser over heightened risks due to increased travel and public gatherings.

In addition, the governors reviewed the outcome of the 2025 Primary Health Care Leadership Challenge Awards, where Yobe State emerged overall winner, while several other states received regional recognition for improvements in healthcare delivery.
