The 2Baba Foundation has set the tone for an electrifying end to the year in the Federal Capital Territory, confirming that legendary singer Innocent “2Baba” Idibia will headline the Abuja countdown to 2026 with a special command performance.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the New Year’s Eve celebration is being put together by Yankee Entertainment in partnership with Renewed Hope Youth Engagement and the Office of the Special Assistant to the President on Social Events, with the aim of giving Abuja residents a vibrant and memorable transition into 2026.

Reacting to the anticipated performance, the Foundation’s management explained that the decision to feature 2Baba was inspired by the enduring connection between the award-winning artiste and residents of the nation’s capital.
According to them, the appearance is intended as a heartfelt gesture of gratitude while spreading positivity ahead of the New Year.
In a statement, the Foundation emphasised its core values, stressing that optimism and belief in possibilities remain central to its mission. It noted that 2Baba’s life journey continues to inspire many Nigerians, especially young people navigating uncertainty.
The organiser of the show, Mallam Yankee, described 2Baba’s participation as symbolic, saying his rise from humble beginnings to continental stardom embodies resilience and self-belief. He added that ushering Abuja residents into 2026 with such a figure would inspire renewed confidence and hope.

The December 31 celebration will also showcase performances from other artistes, including Magnito, Shoday, Fola and Soundboi BME, promising a diverse musical experience for attendees.
Activities are scheduled to begin as early as 2:00 p.m. at Eagle Square, Abuja. Planned attractions include live concerts, MSME exhibitions, drift shows, a dedicated children’s arena, and a colourful fireworks display to officially welcome the New Year.
