Eko Hot Blog reports that the presentation, which took place immediately after an official launching program of the Renewed Hope Monthly Cash Transfer to the Aged and widows, at the council secretariat, was led by the chairman alongside other political leaders and stakeholders in the LCDA.
The bus was officially handed over to the executive of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), led by Comrade Okunboyejo Olusesan, while the security van was presented to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Noforija Police Station, as part of deliberate efforts to strengthen organised labour and enhance operational efficiency among council workers and the local security task force.
Speaking at the presentation, Hon. Akinloye described the gesture as a deliberate investment in the welfare of workers and the effectiveness of local governance.
“Our workers are the backbone of this council, and when they are well supported, service delivery to our people improves significantly,” he said. “This bus is to ease their operations and further strengthen organised labour in Eredo LCDA.”
In the same spirit of proactive governance, the chairman also presented a patrol vehicle to the Eredo LCDA Security Joint Task Force, noting that security remains a top priority of his administration.
According to him, enhanced mobility for security operatives will improve response time and strengthen surveillance across communities within the LCDA.
“We cannot talk about development without security. This patrol vehicle is to support our security teams in protecting lives and property across Eredo,” Akinloye stated.
Receiving the NULGE bus, the chairman of the union, Comrade Okunboyejo Olusesan, expressed appreciation to the council chairman, describing the gesture as unprecedented and timely.
“This is a clear sign that the chairman values workers and organised labour. This support will greatly enhance our operations and welfare activities,” he said.
Security stakeholders also lauded the provision of the patrol vehicle, assuring residents that it would be deployed effectively to strengthen security across the LCDA.
Community leaders present commended the chairman’s people-centred approach, noting that the dual presentation reflects purposeful, inclusive and responsive leadership.
The presentation of the NULGE bus and security patrol vehicle further reinforces Hon. Akinloye’s reputation for governance that prioritises people, strengthens institutions and builds a safer, stronger and more productive Eredo LCDA.
