The Lagos State Government has urged public servants to renew their commitment to efficient and people-centred service delivery as the state begins operations for 2026.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the call was made by the Head of Service, Mr Bode Agoro, during an inter-religious prayer service held for public servants on the first workday of the year at the Adeyemi-Bero Auditorium, Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, on Friday, 2 January 2026.

Agoro charged officers across all ministries, departments and agencies to work collaboratively towards the successful implementation of government policies, stressing that the state government remains committed to their welfare, well-being and continuous professional development.
He commended public servants for their dedication in implementing government programmes and projects, particularly in driving the objectives of the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The Head of Service highlighted the governor’s support for workers’ welfare, citing the recent approval of brand new official vehicles for substantive directors as part of efforts to motivate and improve productivity within the service.
Agoro also congratulated officers who excelled in the latest promotion exercise and announced the introduction of the Head of Service Premier League, a football competition designed to promote physical fitness, teamwork and unity among public servants.
In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Public Service Office, Mrs Sunkanmi Oyegbola, urged public servants to remain grateful for divine protection and guidance, while the Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, Mrs Boladele Dapo-Thomas, called on officers to recommit themselves to excellence, discipline and professionalism in service delivery.
The event featured prayers by Muslim and Christian clerics, reflecting the state’s commitment to interfaith harmony and the spiritual well-being of its workforce.
